Twice a year the guild holds a quilting retreat at Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center in Temecula. One is held in the spring and the other in the fall. This is a wonderful time to spend with other guild members and get to know one another while indulging in our passion of quilting. The sewing room is large and bright with lots of room to quilt, cut, sew and design. The sleeping rooms are in a separate building a few steps away from our sewing room. The dining room is a nice walk of about a half block, just enough to get the blood flowing from having been sitting and sewing for several hours. As you walk back from your meals you can take in the sights of surrounding vineyards. We do not have a required project; you may work on your own projects and solicit help/input from those attending.

Wanda stopped by to take a sewing break at the retreat.

The guild’s quilting retreats are a wonderful opportunity to work on your own quilting projects or something for the auction without having to worry about housework, meals, shuttling children around, etc.

The dates for 2010 have been scheduled so you can mark your calendars now and start making your plans to attend.  The first retreat is from April 22 through 25, 2010.  If you miss the 1st retreat, the second date is in September from the 16th through the 19th.  We're looking forward to seeing you there.

2010 Retreat price is $210 for 3 days and an additional $90 ($300) if you want the fourth day. If you wish to have a private room the cost is $295 for 3 days and an additional $90 ($385)if you wish to stay for the 4th day. Non-members are invited to participate for an additional $30. A $100 deposit will hold your spot with the balance due one month prior to the retreat.

Come and work on the projects of your own choice.  All of the rooms, both sleeping and sewing areas are air conditioned.  The food is plentiful and very good.  An extra added attraction is the hot air balloons that take off in the morning and wineries in the area.  Rennie, the lady who does massages will be there. There are a couple of lovely quilt shops nearby; who can pass on purchasing more fabric for our stash.

You may check out the Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center at their website; www.vinalestonnac.com.

If you have a friend who is not a member of the guild and they would like to attend, we may have room for them to join us, too.
